Chairman Letter

Dear visitors of Expotech 2011:

I welcome you dearly to the eighth exhibition of the Palestinian ICT innovation and abilities.  This year we have an international conference, commercial exhibition, multinational days, technology entrepreneurship forum and technology forum; which PITA hopes will shed more light on the latest Palestinian achievements not only locally within the borders of Palestine but also regionally and internationally.

The conference this year has a major focus on how to develop the eco-system of the Palestinian ICT sector and most of the sessions will have speakers with international caliber and local experts debating the future steps to build a solid ICT sector.  The fact we have the leaders in the world of ICT innovation such as CISCO, Google, IBM, Microsoft and Oracle among us today, actively working in the Palestinian ICT sector is a live proof of our great abilities and skills.  Furthermore; we have, for the first time, a major participation of Palestinian expats who have successfully created IT companies and have major contributions in the international arenas especially in the Western countries.  Palestinian expats have been always our great ambassadors to the world and will help promote the sector and its capabilities.

We have 40 Palestinian companies showcasing their products at the commercial Expotech exhibition in Ramallah and Gaza. This is a major event to help the Palestinian public learn of the latest technologies available in Palestine.

PITA considers entrepreneurship and innovation as one of the key pillars for the development of the Palestinian ICT sector; hence, a major section of the commercial exhibition has been reserved for Palestinian entrepreneurs to enable them to present their innovations and get feedback directly from the market.  This year the IT forum is focusing on Palestinian innovation and how the young entrepreneurs will benefit from the current eco system. 

Expotech is the event to learn about the Palestinian IT sector and I welcome you to participate actively in its activities. We cherish your attendance not only as a participant but as an active player in building the future of IT in Palestine.
